Korigad Fort Trek: Complete Guide to History, Route & Monsoon Magic

Korigad Fort, also known as Koraigad, is a great trek for beginners in Maharashtra. It’s an easy hike with beautiful views of the area. During the monsoon season, you’ll see small, step-like waterfalls and a temporary reverse waterfall. The large flat top of the fort is ideal for camping in the winter. You can walk the entire 2km around the fort to take in the scenery. In 1657, Shivaji Maharaj captured Korigad along with other forts. Korigad has six cannons, with the biggest one named Laxmi. There are also three temples dedicated to Korai Devi, Vishnu, and Shiva.

Korigad is a fort on a hill, around 18 km south of Lonavla in Pune, Maharashtra, India. We don’t know exactly when it was built, but it was probably before the year 1500. It sits about 923 meters above the sea. The Aamby Valley town is built on the southern and eastern sides of the hill below the fort.
